BreconRidge Inc. headquartered in Kanata, Ontario, the first industry to locate in Commerce Park, has celebrated 20 years in Ogdensburg. For two decades, BreconRidge has contributed to the growth and rejuvenation of Ogdensburg and the North Country. BreconRidge, Aimtronics, and Alcatel, along with many other firms, have created nearly 1,200 jobs and an associated direct annual payroll of approximately $31,000,000. The multiplier effect and spin-off impact of this payroll is substantial.
The Authority has invested in excess of $10 million to develop Commerce Park. Another $10 million has been invested in Authority industrial property by ACCO, DeFelsko Corporation, the Upstate National Bank, St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union, and Niagara Mohawk.
What is the Empire Zone Program
New York State's Empire Zone Program is designed to stimulate business and employment growth in the City of Ogdensburg by offering a comprehensive package of financial incentives and technical assistance to new and expanding businesses.
New York State and the City of Ogdensburg are committed to making the program most successful by cutting red tape, helping with capital needs, reducing utility costs, providing wage and investment tax credits, refunding sales tax on building materials, and offering property tax exemptions.
Ogdensburg has the support and cooperation of the entire community, and also offers a highly-productive and very trainable work force.
